Our Story…
MUSIC has ALWAYS been a part of my life. My first introduction to music was in High School. Mr. R. U. Green was the Choral Director at Tarrant High, and he involved most of the athletes in his program. I can still remember the first time I really “heard” the beauty of MUSIC!
THAT SAME FEELING IS STILL IN MY HEAD AND MY HEART TODAY!
It was December of 1977 when I woke up with the shocking realization that my daughters were growing up fast, and that college and weddings were soon to come.
I was serving Baptist Churches in full-time Music Ministry at the time. (I still do). Although it is my “calling” and my “life”, I knew that I needed to supplement my income in order to provide Lorrie and Amy with what they would need (and want!).
The result of that December ‘77 awakening became RON PARTAIN’S WORLD OF MUSIC. I opened my store on February 8, 1978 with $1,000 and a dream.
The dream continues now some 46 years later.
My objectives, as mentioned above, have been realized. Lorrie and Amy hold degrees from UAB, they are happily married. From a financial standpoint small town retailing has been and remains difficult. We have stayed the course, survived market fluctuations and remain one of Pell City’s oldest retail establishments!
The focus of WORLD OF MUSIC is teaching children and adults the joy of creating music. We employ teachers who share my passion of students learning the love of music. Today we teach more that 65 students a week, from beginners to professional performers.
We sell some of the finest music instruments in the market place.
We excel in customer service.
Our staff and teachers echo my passion to serve Pell City and the surrounding area.
WORLD OF MUSIC is much more than a business to me. It is, has been, and remains my passion to pass on the joy and love of music that Mr. Green gave to me.
